Extraction of cannabis resin

Q - I am looking for a good solvent extraction method to prepare a HPLC standard for our laboratory. I am also interested to use the extracts of cannabis from different regions in a comparison study as to variations in components.

A - Re solvent extraction for HPLC standards, I am not the best person to ask. Try the Forensic Science Service or Laboratory of the Government Chemist (UK), or several other 'Drug Testing & Forensic' links.

If you are licensed by your own Government, they may provide the information you require in protocols re quality assurance and legal standards etc.

For an overview of cannabis resin, I would recommend "Hashish" by Robert Connell Clarke, which brings together much of the published data of cannabinoid profiles of different-origin materials.
